Hormone lab draw
LabBlood work measuring your hormone levels. This is where the line starts: nothing is decided before the results are back. Amy's labs include, at a minimum, a Complete Blood Count (CBC), Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP), Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone (TSH), Triiodothyronine (T3), Thyroxine (T4), Testosterone, Estradiol, Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH), Vitamin D, and Vitamin B12. This is a $618 value at other labs for the same panel.

What it is
Hormone optimization here means bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT), delivered through the Biote method, which uses small pellets placed under the skin rather than a cream, a patch, or a pill.
Amy is a Biote-certified provider. Care starts with a hormone lab draw, so every decision rests on your actual levels rather than an assumption about them.
How the pellets work
A pellet is placed under the skin during a short in-office visit. From there it releases hormone continuously, then dissolves and is absorbed. There is nothing to take out later.
What’s in a pellet is patient-specific. Biote’s pellets contain testosterone or estrogen, and which applies to you comes out of your lab results, not out of a category you’ve been sorted into.
Who it’s generally for
People usually start asking about hormones when something has been persistently off — and has stayed off long enough that it no longer looks like one bad week.
Noticing a pattern is a reason for a conversation, not a conclusion. Plenty of things produce those experiences, and whether hormones are part of yours is what the lab draw and the consultation are for. Amy will say so plainly if the answer is no.
For women
The list is a familiar one: hot flashes, night sweats, sleep that breaks up in the small hours, mood swings, brain fog, and a fatigue that a good night doesn’t touch.
Some of it, all of it, or none of it may be about hormones, which is exactly what the lab draw is there to settle, before anything is decided.
Where pellets turn out to be the right route, what goes into them follows from your results. There is no single standard women’s pellet, and Amy won’t pretend otherwise.
For men
The words differ; the shape doesn’t. Low energy through the afternoon, sleep that isn’t restoring anything, a shift in libido.
The route is identical too: a lab draw first, then a conversation about what the numbers actually show. Where pellets are the right call, the men’s pellet is testosterone, placed the same way and priced above. Where they aren’t, Amy will tell you that instead.
It starts with labs
Three steps, in this order, every time.
- A consultation with Amy: your history, what you’ve noticed, and whether this line is worth pursuing at all. Free, as always.
- A hormone lab draw: blood work measuring where your levels sit.
- A plan built on the results, discussed with you before anything is scheduled.
Nothing is placed and nothing is prescribed before step three.
Individualized, with Amy
Hormone care is as individual as medicine gets, which is exactly why it cannot be ordered off a menu. Amy Palacios, FNP, plans and performs every insertion herself at her Harrisburg medspa, in the greater Charlotte area. It starts with a consultation, free as always.

Have questions?
Why does this start with a lab draw?
Because hormones aren't something to guess at. The draw measures where your levels actually sit, and that result, with your history and how you're feeling, is what Amy builds a plan from.
What is a pellet, and where does it go?
A small bioidentical hormone pellet, placed under the skin by Amy during a short in-office visit. It releases hormone continuously, then dissolves and is absorbed. There's nothing to remove afterward.
Can I book hormone therapy directly?
No. This line starts with a consultation, free as always, because hormone care begins with your history and a clinical conversation rather than a menu.
What does Biote-certified mean?
Biote certifies independent providers in its method of bioidentical hormone replacement therapy. Amy Palacios is a licensed family nurse practitioner and a Biote-certified provider; the practice is her own.
Is this only for women?
No. Amy offers pellets for both women and men. The two prices above reflect that. Which applies to you, and whether pellets suit you at all, is settled in consultation.
Who performs the insertion?
Amy Palacios, FNP. Every appointment is with Amy herself.
The right fit is just a conversation away.
Every plan is personalized, decided between you and Amy.
